Multi-Dog Household Tips

Understanding your breed of dog! I did note when you have Multi-dog Household (3 or more) some of them get along better with certain dogs in the pack. And if you have a herding dog in your household pack they will demand order in the pack. Remember, before adding more dogs to your household - research the dog breed first to ensure they all get along with your leader of the pack. Some dogs may become confused, sad, jealous, or upset when you bring another dog into the household. While, some dog breeds may just enjoy the extra company. Cats: Some dog breeds love the company of kittens or cats while some breeds may not accept a cat in your home. Test it out first before taking the final step to add an extra dog or cat to your household.

Herding breeds include the following:
  • Australian Cattle Dog
  • Australian Kelpie Australian Shepherd Altdeutsche Hütehunde Beauceron Belgian Shepherds. Laekenois. Tervueren. Malinois Bergamasco Shepherd Berger Picard

Sporting Breeds such as: Beagles, Bassets, Foxhounds, Coonhounds, Labradors, Golden Retrievers, and the hound dogs of sporting breeds still have very strong genes to keep the pack in harmony.

Now at the other end of breeds, some types have no or little tolerance for the surrounding area of others of their kind. Such as the American Pit Bull Terrier. It is always important when adopting another dog into your Muti-Dog household to understand each and every breeds' behavior to make sure they all get along!

Remember that when you have any amount of dogs (1 or many) in your household: Your dog(s) has included your family in their dog pack! And will give up their last heartbeat to protect your family. Barking at a knock on your door, nipping at strangers' feet, growling at strange noises, herding a mouse rat terriers , trying to sleep on your bed at night to protect you 24/7! One eye open and one ear hearing 24 hours a day! All for the love of you and your household family members.
